Guest Post-DIY Mini Photo Magnets

I am so excited to announce a guest post from my friend, Little Bird's Mom and fellow mom blogger Dani G.

Hi. I'm Dani G and I write a blog called I'm Just That Way. I describe myself as a sassy warrior mother from Los Angeles raising a sweet little girl with Autism in the Midwest.

I've never really described myself as crafty or a make-it-myself kind of girl. But, I really do enjoy creating new things, taking a needle and thread to mend our clothes, knitting scarves and hats, I even used some homemade crafts to decorate Little Bird's room. I'm constantly in awe of some of Brooke's handiwork and I got so inspired by her recent Summer Quick Berry Jam post, that I've been making my own jam about once a week now and Little Bird's been eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches like crazy!

I love covering my refrigerator with photos of my friends and family. Since my fridge is magnetic, I've found yet another way to get pics of my loved ones on the fridge: make my own magnets!

It's so easy. I order photos from shutterfly every so often and they always come with an index sheet, displaying all photos in the order.

I buy mini magnets, glass gems, crazy glue, good ol' Mod Podge.

I cut out the photo tiles, use the mod podge to stick 'em onto the glass gems and them them dry. Then I crazy glue the magnets to the back of the photo. Sometimes, if I feel like it, I'll paint the back of the photo, too. Just gives it an extra touch.

Then, I put 'em up on the fridge and admire my handiwork!

The more I think about it, I guess I am pretty creative!

Dani is also an advocate for children with special needs helping to create Birdhouse an Autism Management tool so parents can track what works and what doesn't work.  Share it with your friends that have kids with special needs
