There are so many incredible things going on in the Detroit area, so I focused on the greener options that are family friendly.

Ongoing Activities

Most Farmer's Markets are closed, but you can still go to Eastern Market for produce that is fresh from the farmers.  

Be Kind to our World  at Shalom Street 
Learn about the earth through the elements: earth, wind, fire, water. FREE

Glimpse: People of our Community at the U of M Museum of Natural History
Photography exhibit of the faces of people around Washtenaw County.  FREE


EXTREME DEEP: Mission to the Abyss Cranbrook Institute of Science
Educational Exhibit on the mysteries of the Ocean Floor $9.50-$12.50

Pathways to Freedom in the Americas at the Charles Wright Museum.
Follow the journey of two black women in the Americas. $5-$8

Open Skate at Campus Martius Park
Opens for the season starting November 6th.  Free daytime parking at the Compuware Structure with purchase of one skating admission. 

If you haven't stopped by the cider mill yet, most close around Thanksgiving.

Kids for Kids Rummage Sale at Schroeder Elementary, Troy
Stop by for toys and more that were donated to raise money to help build a school in Haiti 
(you can drop off donations Nov. 5-8)

Equestrian Expo at the Suburban Collection Showplace
Find out more about horses, watch training, or take part in a riding competition. $5 Children $10 Adults

Turkey Time at Dinosaur Nature Preserve

Veteran's Appreciation Day at Local Metro Parks
Play at any of the 13 Huron-Clinton Metro Parks.  Vehicle entry and boat launch fees are waived today.
