10 Nausea Remedies During Pregnancy

The first trimester with #2 has been much harder then I had during my pregnancy with Baby Bear.  During that pregnancy, I was working full time and I don't know if I just had to ignore how I was feeling, or I felt differently.  I was nauseous, but not to the same degree.  I was also really tired this time and just generally not feeling well for three months.  So naturally, I needed to have a cabinet full of remedies to help keep the nausea at bay. I try not to eat food with additives or anything artificial in general, but especially when pregnant.

~My 10 favorite remedies for nausea during pregnancy~

{1} Anything Ginger Helps
Ginger Tea
Ginger Chews (try Reed's Ginger Candy)
Candied Ginger
Ginger Ale

{2} Soda Water or lightly flavored LaCroix
I need something other then water when my stomach is flipping

 {3} Mary's Gone Crackers
After eating saltines for a few days, I needed an alternative

{4} SweeTarts

My cousin Adina told me about eating SweeTarts when I was pregnant with Baby Bear.  I had them in my desk at work, in my purse, and at home! You have to suck on them and not chew to get the best effect. I could not find a more natural alternative and they work like magic.

{5} Preggie Pops
Had these in the car 'just in case'

{6} Watermelon
Cold & Crisp and great to help replace electrolytes

{7} Plenty of Water
I always carry a reusable bottle of 'emergency water' everywhere with me because sometimes I feel like I need to drink an ocean.  My best friend and I joke about this, but I always had it with me when I was pregnant with Baby Bear when I was on the train in Chicago.

{8} Glee Gum

{9} Young Coconut
Coconuts are incredible to eat fresh.  We would buy them by the case in Chicago, but I have trouble finding the young coconuts in Detroit.  They have good fats and the water fresh from the coconut tastes better then any bottled variety that I have found.  Then you can also eat the meat of coconut or put it in a smoothie.
Just a note-coconut milk is not the same as coconut water.

{10} Peppermint or Chamomile tea
I found that drinking Peppermint or Chamomile tea with a little honey helped to prevent the morning sickness for a little while

    1. I LOVE the preggie pops! I actually give them to my hubby or friends if they have an upset stomach. It helps A LOT. It doesn't totally stop the throwing up part but it usually is enough to settle my stomach if I have them right when I started feeling bad.

  2. I lived on rice cakes, water and popsicles for my ENTIRE pregnancy. I was throwing up right until I delivered. I had rice cakes crammed everywhere. In my desk, in the car, beside the bed, and in every purse. In the beginning I could only handle plain, then I moved to popcorn flavoured, then white cheddar and caramel. He was so worth it though! The bonus was I down 5 pounds by the time I went for my 6 week post-partum check up! Now we're going for #2, hope it's not as bad this time, but I will definitely keep these tips in mind! I love sweettarts!

  4. Sweet tarts or any other sour-ish candy worked for me! These are all great tips, I would order flavored soda water at the local coffee stand since they carry the ingredients for italian sodas, if I couldn't find a spritzer near by.

  5. Being currently pregnant that has struggled with morning sickness for pretty much the entire pregnancy (I'm 31 weeks now and still get it on occasion), I can tell you that you can look for remedies all over the internet, but what works for one will not work for the other. Nothing helped my morning sickness besides the prescription Zofran, and even that didn't really do anything besides take the edge off it. Try these things...but don't expect all, if any, to work for you. Every pregnancy is different.

  6. General I am extremely eager to watch the Rams prepare an establishment quarterback, and modify their program. Nonetheless a portion of the web prattle about the St. Louis Rams being significantly enhanced, expectations of win sums and playoff conceivable outcomes, makes me draw out the rude awakening. http://www.mordocrosswords.com/2016/06/rams-fans.html
