When we purchased our house, we wanted to make as few updates as possible and to use mostly recycled materials to do it. One of the things that was big on the list (besides the kitchen) was to make Baby Bear's room a fun and cozy place to be. The walls were cream and the carpet is the same beige color that we have in the rest of the house. I saw a really cute room for a girl in a magazine that had light blue walls with white furniture and other accent colors. Mr. BBH loved the idea too because he did not want everything for Baby Bear to be super girly. I chose the HGTV paint base at Sherwin Williams because it was a low VOC paint and Baby Bear was already 1 when we moved in, so we did not want any chemicals around. Our furniture is white, the crib is natural color and we added bright pink accents.
The crib and changing table are upcycled from friends, the reading nook is from Ikea, and the book case and dresser are furniture that we funkified with chunky glass knobs from Anthropology {on sale of course!}.
The moon lamp may originally be Ikea, but we found it at the ReUse Center in Ann Arbor.
The art next to the Giraffe is from Etsy Seller- CabbagesandKings who was so sweet and agreed to put the name in Hebrew! We also have one on her bedroom door by the same artist with just Baby Bear's name.
The Flower painting near the door is handmade by her aunt, why she calls Tia Quita.
Her Baby Blanket is hand quilted by her Great Aunt Brenda Waber.
gorgeous nursery!
